Crashboard is a surfing cyberspace game controlled by a skateboard. In the game, you have to avoid waves of operating system windows pop-up interface coming at you. You control the camera position by leaning on the skateboard. The skateboard has been hijacked to become the game controller by using an accelerometer and give the players real skate feelings. The visual language and vocabulary is inspired by computer crashes and play with the stress provoked by the failure of an allegedly rational system giving you no choice be to be “OK”. The installation creates a great tension between the free attitude skateboarding implies and the narrowed space the failing computer gives us.

The gameplay is inspired by Guitar Hero, Dance Dance Revolution, Rayman 3, Sayonara Wild Hearts and Thumper. It’s a blend between rhythm games, bullet hell and scrollers.
