Statera is a game about humanity’s conquest of nature, despite already being on top. From billionaires building bulky bases for businesses, to scientists with the best intentions building over more land than they’d like to mention, we humans will destroy anything if we think it’s in the way. But what does this do to the world? How does this look from the other side?
In Statera, you can exert your power on this imbalance. Place trees, rivers, and more to create a space for nature to flourish… Make your own ecosystem using the limited resources provided. Enjoy the sight of wild animals living in the environment you create… for as long as humanity’s constant expansion allows.
This experimental game was made by a small team of three students, Randy Querreveld, Rick van Leeuwen and Denis Dvorkovyy from the Utrecht University of the Arts videogame department. It’s still in an early prototype phase so any and all feedback is appreciated.
This is a test presentation. The Hku students will be present Friday 22 and Sunday 24 between 12.00 and 18.00 to present their project. Your feedback and impressions are welcome!
