RESISTANCE or the vindication of a collective right is a collaborative performance to be presented in the public space, created in residence in Valparaíso through interdisciplinary scenic strategies. It involves the participation of women and LGBTQIA+ people of different ages and backgrounds in a creative workshop.
The work seeks to translate some of the ideas of Judith Butler, Paul B. Preciado and <María Lugones, through a stage device based on the bodies and experiences of the participants. In the antagonism between repression and pleasure, death and celebration, denunciation and resistance, the performance seeks to address the vindication of the right to a life free of violence in a context of colonisation and active extractivism.

This collective performance is open for women and LGBTQIA+ people that which to share with LASTESIS and the community a unique and transforming experience. The performance will be the opening act of the festival, on Thursday 21-11.

BIO : Colectivo LASTESIS is an artistic, interdisciplinary and feminist collective from Valparaíso, Chile, featuring Daffne Valdés Vargas and Sibila Sotomayor Van Rysseghem. The collective is dedicated to spreading feminist theses and demands through performance and video performance, combining performing, sound, graphic and textile arts with history, philosophy and social sciences. Their performances include: Patriarchy and Capital is a Criminal Alliance (2018); the rapist is you (2020); RESISTANCE or the vindication of a collective right (2021), The city of the future alongside Delight Lab (2022), Songs for cooking (2023) and the street intervention a rapist in your path (2019), replicated in more than 50 countries.
Besides LASTESIS, Daffne and Sibila collaborate with various performing arts projects, they are lecturers at the University of Valparaíso and are editors of Panambí, a journal of artistic research.
